OTeva is built around a simple rule: patient data stays on the device it was entered on.

Overview
OTeva is a local-first application. There is no OTeva account, no OTeva server, and no OTeva-operated database. This policy explains what data the application handles on your device, what happens if you connect an AI provider, and separately, what this marketing website (the pages you're reading now) does and doesn't do.
What's stored, and where
Every patient record, assessment, questionnaire answer, diagnosis, therapist, clinic, and report created in OTeva is stored in your browser's local storage, on the device where the app is running. This data:
- is never transmitted to OTeva or to any OTeva-operated service, because none exists;
- is not synced between devices;
- is removed if you clear that browser's site data for the app, unless you've exported a backup first (Settings → Backup & Restore);
- can be exported at any time as a JSON backup, and restored on the same or another device.
AI providers
AI-drafted report sections are optional. If you configure a cloud AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini), the relevant questionnaire answers and clinical notes for that draft request are sent directly from your device to that provider's API, using the API key you supplied. That exchange is governed by the provider's own privacy policy and terms, not this one. OTeva does not proxy, log, or retain a copy of that request.
If you configure a local Ollama endpoint instead, drafting happens entirely on your own machine or network and nothing leaves your device.
Your API key is stored locally on the device where you entered it and is never sent anywhere except to the provider it belongs to.
This marketing site
This informational website (the pages describing OTeva, including this one) does not collect personal data, does not use analytics or tracking scripts, and does not set cookies. The only browser storage it uses is a single local preference for light/dark theme, which stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Screenshots shown on this site are taken from a demo instance seeded with fictional patient data for illustration; no real patient information appears anywhere on this site.
Your choices
- Use OTeva entirely offline by choosing a local Ollama provider, or skip AI drafting altogether.
- Export a backup, or delete all local data, at any time from Settings.
- Get in touch or ask a question about how data is handled by contacting us below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
